In loving memory ~
It is with sadness and love we announce the passing of Celia in Edmonton, Alberta. Celia lived in Summerland for 50 years and contributed much to the community she loved. As a nurse, she cared for many people in care homes and retired as an education assistant at the Summerland Secondary School. She loved tennis and helped form and manage the Summerland Racquets Club and worked tirelessly with Action Fest, the Recreation Board, Save the Children's Fund, the women's business association WOSO, and the prevention of elder abuse. She was 'Mum' to many foreign students and hockey players who billeted with them. She'll be missed by many friends and family, including four daughters, five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. She's off to join her husband Don on their next great walkabout.
Our thanks to the staff of the Benevolence Care Centre in Edmonton for their excellent care.
