In loving memory ~
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Carol-Anne Stiles on September 12, 2024, at age 78. Carol-Anne faced a brief, courageous battle with lung cancer following her diagnosis in June. She passed peacefully at the Duncan Hospice.
Predeceased by her parents, Lester and Beatrice Greenshields, and her sister-in-law, Melanie, Carol-Anne is lovingly remembered by her husband, Robert; sons, Christopher (Shana, Mikala) and Michael (Nicole Isola, Imogen, Emerson); her brother Douglas; niece Regina (Tyler, Emma, Abigail, Maria); nephew Hayden (Theresa, Sophia, Milania); and many extended family and friends.
Born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Carol-Anne later settled with her family in Port Renfrew, BC. She met Robert in Victoria, where they both worked at the Bank of Montreal, marrying in 1976. They shared 48 years together, living in several cities, cherishing their gardens, and raising their two sons with love.
A devoted reader, skilled gardener, and avid swimmer, Carol-Anne enjoyed life on her Duncan hobby farm, where she and Robert built a home, raised animals, and created lasting memories with family. Known for her resilience, Carol-Anne faced multiple health challenges, including MS and macular degeneration, with grace and positivity.
Carol-Anne chose cremation, and her family thanks H.W. Wallace Cremation and Burial Centre for their compassion. She will be laid to rest alongside her parents at Royal Oak Burial Park in Victoria.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, November 23, at 1:30 p.m. at Duncan United Church, 246 Ingram Street, followed by a reception. Please RSVP to mistiles@telus.net with attendee details.
