Bubbles Georgena (Georgie) Zolob

January 2, 1943 – March 8, 2023
In loving memory ~
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Georgie Zolob at home on the evening of March 8, 2023. Georgie is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years Dan Zolob, children Kyle Zolob (Nicola) and Pamela Black, grandchildren Eli Zolob, Isaac Zolob, Adam Saunders, Dylan Shorthouse, great granddaughter Isla Shorthouse, along with brothers-in-law Gary Zolob (Audrey) and Larry Zolob and sister-in-law Anna, nieces and nephews, and special friend Kathleen Brodie. She was predeceased by her daughter Nicolle and by her parents.
Georgie lived a beautiful, dignified life, rich with the love of her family and friends. Born in Victoria, her younger life was not without challenges. She spent her early years in Vancouver before returning to the island to live in Nanaimo and attended Woodlands Junior Secondary School and Nanaimo District Secondary School, during which time she co-hosted a radio program for teens while working part-time at Radio Station CHUB. High school was followed by commercial studies at St. Anne’s Convent which served her well in her career as a stenographer at various real estate and insurance adjuster’s offices in Nanaimo.
Georgie married her adoring husband Dan in 1964, and Nanaimo is where they built their life and family. A discerning woman of great taste, she shared her charm and wit easily with the people she was close to, and kindness, grace and elegance with those to whom she was not. She touched many lives and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She loved animals, dancing, reading and socializing with family and friends, but most of all she loved Dan and their children and grandchildren. To her children, she leaves her kindness, grace and sense of humour. To her husband, she leaves her undying love, unfathomable gratitude, and their children who love him more than words can ever describe. By request, there will be no formal service. There will be a private family gathering. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to Nanaimo SPCA or a charity of your choice.Obituary-
