January 27, 2023
Bonnie J. Boerner was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. A resident of Mission, British Columbia, she entered into eternal rest on January 27, 2023 at the age of 71.
She was born to Virgil and Myra Hoff in 1951 and grew up in Wisconsin. After graduating from nursing school, Bonnie travelled for work before meeting and marrying the love of her life and husband of 43 years, Alan Boerner. Together, they had three beloved children: Zachariah, Linnea (Jeremy) Schellenberg, and Cara (Stephen) Wilhite. She also cherished and was blessed to enjoy her four grandchildren: Mya, Zoey, Eli and Theo Schellenberg.
Bonnie faithfully served alongside Alan in his pastoral ministries at the Ostenfeld/Lydiatt, Germanicus and Mount Calvary congregations. Bonnie cared for, prayed with and gently guided friends in their walks with Jesus. Bonnie loved spending time in the kitchen, creating delicious meals and baked treats for her family and those she loved. She put this love of cooking and her servant heart to good use while volunteering her time with Hope Central Ministries. She also enjoyed singing with her church worship teams and was a skilled seamstress. In recent years, her battle with Alzheimer's prevented her from doing much of which she loved.
Bonnie was predeceased by her father, Virgil Hoff, her brother, William [Billy] Hoff, and her nephew, Jonathan Hoff. She treasured her family and traveled back as often as she could to Wisconsin to visit her mother, Myra, her siblings: Rachel (Roger) Niedfeldt, Robert Hoff, Ronald (Amanda) Hoff, and her nieces and nephews.
To honour Bonnie's wishes, there will be no funeral service. We invite you to please privately celebrate Bonnie's life in your own way. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Bonnie's memory to Hope Central Ministries (https://newheights.ca/hope-central/donations/) or to your local soup kitchen.
