Betty (Critchley) Houghton

In loving memory ~
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Betty Houghton on May 27, 2023.
Betty was born in Widnes, U.K., and immigrated to Canada in 1966 with husband Frank and their two daughters. They settled in Tsawwassen in 1973, where they made lifelong friends at the Tsawwassen Tennis Club. Betty and Frank retired to Vancouver Island in 2001.
Betty will be remembered for her outgoing, generous and friendly personality, her love for family and friends and her wonderful sense of humour. She was a character and the entertainment wherever she went. Betty enjoyed watching tennis, golf and the Toronto Raptors. Rock and Roll and musicals were also a big part of her life.
Predeceased by her parents Thomas and Elizabeth. Survived by her loving husband Frank, daughters Janet Frosst (Mike), Judy Houghton, grandchildren Janelle Kehler (Paul), Jaclyn Leciej (Matt, Ayden and great-granddaughter Olive), and Brad Schmied (Natalie). Fondly remembered by brother-in-law John Houghton, cousin Jean Holland (David) and many dear friends locally and abroad.
Mum, we love you dearly and you are in our thoughts every day. Onwards and Upwards.
A Celebration of Life is to be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at the Qualicum Legion (1:00 - 4:00 p.m.).
