December 27, 1939 - March 6, 2025

In loving Memory ~

With heavy hearts, we share that Barry David Law passed away, surrounded by family, on March 6, 2025, at the age of 85.

Born on December 27, 1939, and raised in the Cypress area of West Vancouver by his loving parents, Vera and Nathaniel Law, Barry was a natural storyteller with an unmistakable sense of humour and quick wit.

Barry spent 50 years working in the Vancouver shipping industry, including 25 years with the Pacific Pilotage Authority.

From the early 1960s, Barry found Eagan Lake—where he enjoyed ranching, hunting, fishing, and vacationing with family and friends. In 2010, he made this area his home and lived out his days on the land he loved, warmly welcoming others and finding great joy in sharing the lake year-round.

He will be remembered for his kindness, love of simple pleasures, predictable mannerisms, and exuberance when telling a well-worn story.

He showed us that connection comes in many forms—from quiet companionship, to lively conversations around the campfire, to enthusiastic participation in traditions and gatherings.

A lifelong lover of crib, he taught each of us how to play and treasured the time spent around the table, scoring points and pegging to the finish line.

He leaves us with a legacy of love, many wonderful memories, and a deep connection to Eagan Lake.

Barry is predeceased by his son, Steven, and survived by his wife, Sonia; children, Sharlene, Sean (Carla), Jennifer (Gabe), and Valerie (Arlo); grandchildren, Sarah, Brandon, Samantha, Brianna, Meghan, Erik, Ryan, Rowan, Kieran, and Liam; and great-grandchild, Stevie.

A summer celebration of Barry's life will be held at Eagan Lake—his favourite place on earth. All who knew and loved him are invited to join.

He is deeply missed and forever held in our hearts.
