In Loving Memory ~
To all who ever met her with fondness, and most especially to her 3 Children, 4 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren: She has gone to meet her creator - full of love and grateful for the gifts, heartaches and adventure of life that were hers for 83 precious years.
You are all the culmination of a storied life - one whose early years were shaped by a fierce and protective bond with little Brother Brian (Wearing) & love of her Father (Norman Wearing) and adoptive Mother (Alberta).
From humble BC roots she brought a passion & skill for Art to an RCAF posting in New Brunswick - where she found true love with Airman Bill Wootton. She had a life-long career in medical transcription that flourished from a love for language and the power of words.
Bill and her were blessed to bring 3 children into this world: Barbara was ever awed by her role as their childhood Mother, growing with ease and grace to love the spouses who would join her kids in the years that followed: Son Brian (Cheryl), Daughter Dana (Stan Kotilla), Son Brent (Noriko).
At peace & in pure joy she continues forever now to watch over the adventures, lives and the families being built by her nieces, nephews, and most especially by her grandchildren: Zack (Sheena), Kailee, Brendan (Audrey), and Shota.
'The road wound uphill to the very end' for Barbara - she did not take those steps alone - carried at times by faith, supported by an amazing team of care-givers at Yucalta lodge since 2019, and nurtured in mind, body and soul for so many years by her daughter Dana. She believed in perseverance above all else - considering what had passed, but understanding that it is always the next choice made in life that is the most important. Already missed, always loved - a celebration of her life will be held for family in 2024.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.suttonsfuneralhome.com for the Wootton & Kotilla families.
