June 14, 1940 – March 16, 2023
Audrey Semke (nee Wyder), age 82, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2023, with her family at her side.
Audrey was the devoted wife of Wayne for 60 years; the beloved mother of Cheryl, Brad (Anne-Marie), and Steve (Rebecca); and the treasured grandmother of Jonathan, Stefan, Amanda, David, Joshua, and Matthew.
Audrey is also survived by her sister Carol (Lyle), her brother Jack, and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, all of whom were dear to her heart.
Audrey was a bright, fun-filled, creative, generous, wise, hard-working, and compassionate woman of faith. She was a source of care and support to many throughout her life.
Over her eight decades, Audrey had many roles and occupations. She was a loving daughter, sister, friend, wife, mother, and “Grammy”. And she was a dedicated homemaker, hostess, church volunteer, executive secretary, gardener, and interior decorator.
Four years ago, Audrey and Wayne’s journey with Alzheimer’s meant they had to say farewell to their home of 42 years in South Surrey. Together, they transitioned to The Village Langley in 2019. During Audrey’s stay at Alder House and Cypress Cottage, she received excellent medical support and personal care from the wonderful staff.
We would like to sincerely thank all the caregivers, medical personnel, and other staff members at The Village for their kindness and warm-hearted professionalism toward Audrey and our family. You are a blessing.
Audrey Semke will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She is in our hearts forever.
