June 15, 2023
In loving memory ~
Arthur was born in Flint, Michigan, and died on June 15th, 2023. He was the 4th Generation of Clergy in his family.
He graduated from Seminary (CDSP) and was ordained as an Episcopal Priest at Grace Cathedral in San Francisco. He then entered into the US Army as a Chaplain, 1st Lt, and was first posted to Fort Meade, MD. There, he met and married Dolores (D) Williams. From Charlottetown, P.E.I. on June 25th, 1961 – There his son, Karl, was born.
Shortly after that, he was posted to Germany, where he served with the Third Armored Division. His Daughter, Katherine, was born in Frankfurt during this tour. When he left Germany, he resigned his commission and received an honourable discharge. This led to a period of service to the Church. California was the start of many civilian Parishes. He was always a Volunteer Fireman wherever he was. In Vernon, he served at the hospital and helped to change the location of the Remembrance Day Service to Kal Tire Place.
He became a proud Canadian in 1971. And shortly after joining the Canadian Forces. His first posting was CFB Gagetown, N.B. From there to Edmonton, he did the year-long French Course. He often said this was the hardest work he did as an adult; between the Army and the Church, he served in four countries, six provinces and many states. He chose Winfield, B.C., to be his retirement home.
Now, he has stopped moving – so he is where he wants to be. Singing with the angels in a heavenly choir.
He leaves his wife, son and daughter, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A service will be held on August 11th, 10 A.M. at All Saints Church in Vernon, B.C.Obituary-
