In Loving Memory ~
With heavy hearts we share that Armand passed away peacefully after a battle with dementia with his family by his side in Port Alberni.
Armand leaves to forever miss him, his loving wife of 60 years, Yvette; son, Ron (Lori); daughter, Deb (Haas Joe); grandchildren, Alisha, Dylan, Nicola, and Jenna. He is also survived by Eva Crossland, Raymonde Bouchard, Rolande Poulin, Simone Chase, Lillian Girard, Ann-Marie Compagna, Paul (Lorraine) Denis, Ernie (Doris) Denis, Claude (Sue) Denis, Celine Doucette, Cecile (Sid) Klics, and Charles Denis.
He was predeceased by his parents, Louis and Laurette Denis; brother, Gilbert Denis, brothers in law, Real Compagna, Albert Bouchard, Albert Crossland, Murray Chase, Roland Girard, and Wilfred Doucette; niece, Linda Bouchard; sisters in law, Glenda Denis, and Terry Chase.
Armand was truly a family name always there for his children and grandchildren and very devoted to his parents and siblings. It was his mom who came to bring Armand home to his resting place.
Every year our summer holidays were spent going to Leoville to visit family. He enjoyed spending time with his brothers and brothers in law with lots of fun fishing, ski-doos, ice fishing, and card games, and big family meals.
Armand excelled in building houses starting with the first family home to the one they live in now. He even ventured into building campers. When he wasn't busy with his building, Armand loved to collect VW cars working on them to get them running and selling them to buy more.
His favourite time of year was hunting season. He hunted for moose up the Alaska Highway. We never bought meat as he seldom came home empty handed.
Armand will be greatly missed - he was always there when needed.
The family would like to thank the care team at West Haven and Dr Puts and Dr Smith for the wonderful, compassionate care they provided to Armand when he was in their care as well as the kindness and caring that they showed the family during his illness.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 20th at Holy Family Notre Dame Church, 4731 Burke Road in Port Alberni.
