It is with great sadness that the family of Arlie Watson announce her passing on October 12, 2022 at the age of 81.
Arlie will be lovingly remembered by her son Kelly (Karen) Hassell, daughter Cindy Sabino, and step children Theresa Jensen, Karen (Eric) Vanhalderen, Kelly (Bill) Furnseth, and Wade (Erika) Watson, her sister Karen (Bob) Gibbs, as well as 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildrenand numerous other family members and friends.
Arlie is predeceased by her loving husband, Bill Watson, parents Dorothy and Albert Meagher, and step-father Leo Roy.
Arlie was born in Emo, Ontario on March 26, 1941 to Dorothy and Albert Meagher. She lived her younger years in Ontario and moved to BC with her mother, Dorothy and sister, Karen. She was married to James Hassell in BC, then moved to Terrace and had her family. Arlie then separated from James.
In Terrace, Arlie worked two jobs and met many friends. She married Bill Watson in 1981. Arlie and Bill were active with the Rod and Gun club and Reform Party, they liked to golf with friends and travel eventually staying in Arizona half time as snowbirds. Arlie loved spending her winters in sunny, warm Arizona. She loved her country music and getting together with friends to play cards. They moved away from Terrace in 2013 to Vernon, and then to Nanaimo and, after the passing of her husband Bill in 2019, Arlie moved to Kamloops. Arlie cherished her family and her friendships.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at the Ponderosa Lodge for their care and compassion.
