In Loving Memory ~
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Antonio (Tony) Aldo Senini of Nanaimo.
Tony passed away peacefully in the presence of his loved ones on September 9, 2023, at the age of 90.
Tony is predeceased by his mother, Caterina Omodei, and his father, Stefano Senini.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 62 years, Marilynn, and his children Lisa (Gary), Greg, Doug, Stephen (Ivan), granddaughter Taylor (Curtis), great-granddaughter Kinsley, brother Giorgio (Vanna), and numerous extended family and friends.
Tony was a genuinely compassionate and hardworking man with a wonderful sense of humour. He was born in Tovo di Sant'Agata, Italy, and immigrated to Canada in 1952. There he met his wife, Marilynn, and they resided in Extension, B.C.
Tony spent most of his working life employed in logging camps for MacMillan Bloedel and in the Harmac pulp mill. In his free time, he tended to the family farm.
Tony genuinely enjoyed waking up early, going on walks with his dog, baling hay, and milling lumber that he generously gave to his children and friends. He was a down-to-earth man who loved to spend time with family and friends, sharing his homemade wine. He also enjoyed various hobbies such as woodworking, golfing, playing crib, travelling on cruises, and visiting Italy.
He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His kind and gentle nature will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
We invite all family and friends to a celebration of his life on November 4, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Cavallotti Lodge in Nanaimo.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the NRGH Palliative Care Unit or the Nanaimo Canadian Red Cross.
