Anne passed away on December 20, 2022 at the age of 89. Anne was born to Johann and Helena Goerz on April 21, 1933 in Dalmeny, Saskatchewan, the youngest of 9 children. At the age of 9,the family moved to Black Creek on Vancouver Island, BC. There she met Herman Falk and they married in 1955.
Herman was an elementary school teacher and Anne took care of children and kept the home warm with lovely smells of delicious cooking and baking and much laughter. Anne and Herman loved travelling and exploring, be it parks and beaches nearby or longer trips around BC or Canada. In later years they enjoyed cruising, and were able to visit many exotic and interesting places. Travelling also included visiting children and grandchildren to celebrate milestones. Music was an integral part of Anne's life and also family life.
She was a regular member of the church choir and she and Herman enjoyed attending local concerts. In retirement Anne and Herman began volunteer work. In all, they were volunteers with MCC for 8 years in various locations. Eventually settling in Abbotsford, Anne continued to volunteer at the MCC Quilt Room and the MCC Thrift Store until well into her 80s. Anne is predeceased by 2 sons, James and Stanley.
She is mourned by her husband Herman, and 4 children, Patricia and (Lawrence) Braul, Donna and (Gary) Snider, Karen Pankraz, George and (Carla) Falk, 9 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service for Anne will take place Monday, February 13, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Bakerview MB Church, 2285 Clearbrook Rd, Abbotsford BC.
