Ann Waram passed away with family by her side on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at the age of 91.
Predeceased by her husband Dave, two brothers, and a sister; Ann is survived by her sister Dora; three loving children; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Ann was the glue that held her family together. She was a quiet person who had a peaceful energy about her that made everyone gravitate towards her and want to spend time with her. Ann was a loving and caring mother and grandmother, who loved providing for her family. She was a dedicated nurse for 29 years at West Coast General Hospital, acting as the head nurse on the women’s floor and the surgical floor. Her calm personality made everyone she worked with feel relaxed, even in the most stressful situations. She will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, July 8, 2017, at the Chapel of Memories, 4005 6th Avenue, Port Alberni, BC. For those who wish, donations can be made in Ann’s memory to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB), the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Salvation Army, or the West Coast General Hospital Foundation.
