July 8, 1936 - May 17, 2023
It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Andrew Adair Craig (Drew).
Drew was survived by his wife of 24 years Carolee Brown, sons Kent, Randy (Tracy) and daughter Lisa (Darren), nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
During the summers while going to university Drew joined UNTD Naval program as an officer cadet and had the opportunity to explore the world and meet lifelong friends.
With teaching certificate in hand Drew and the family headed to the Northwest Territories teaching for the federal government for 5 years. Along with his teaching career Drew became a corner and justice of the peace at 22 years old and a vice principal before leaving the "North".
Kelowna was the next stop in Drew's career where he was principal at Raymur Elementary, Westbank Elementary, and Rutland Jr Secondary: He was proud of his staff and students and well respected for his motivation and inspiration in the learning process, Drew was a lifelong teacher of everything he knew.
After retirement Drew loved to ski, play slo-pitch, golf and enjoyed boating on the West Coast. He also started the slo-pitch league for seniors over 55 years of age after moving to Nanaimo with Carolee, but his passion was playing bridge.
Drew had many interesting life experiences and will be remembered for his love and teaching inspirations.
Drew's family and Carolee would like to thank the doctors, nurses and support staff in the ER, 1st floor and in the palliative units at NGRH for their care and compassion shown during his last few days.
