May 8, 1973 – April 4, 2022
It is with profound sorrow that we share the news of the sudden passing of Andrea Marie Verhaeghe.
Andrea was born on a scorching hot day in May of 1973 at the Cowichan District Hospital. Her early years were spent in Prince George, but her true home was Castlegar. She played saxophone, swam with the Cowichan Aquanauts, joined air cadets and girl guides. It was in junior high where she met Jason Verhaeghe; from then on, they began their lives together. Andrea persevered as a young mother and continued on to graduate high school.
On Sept.3rd,1994 Andrea and Jason got married and together they had three sons. She was proud of her boys. She helped them thrive in school, attended every hockey/lacrosse game to cheer them on, and provided motherly advice/help when needed. She watched them grow into fine young men.
Andrea’s passions included travelling, camping, reading, and spending time by the water. Together Andrea and Jason enjoyed bowling, playing slow-pitch, and spending time with family and friends.
Predeceased by her father Hugh Small. Andrea leaves behind her husband; Jason. Her sons; Keith (Chelsea), Cameron, and Evan (Hailey). Her precious grandchildren; Leah, Alexis, Willow, and Maverick. Her loving mother Mary Beth (John). Her brother Matthew (Christina), sister Jennifer, numerous other family
members, and friends including her little Mush Mush.
Andreas strong will and persistence assisted throughout a long and difficult battle with her health. She was still a very warm and caring daughter, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend to many people. We are so thankful that we had her loving and special spirit with us as long as we did, she will be greatly missed and forever loved. We know that she will be sharing jokes and travelling the world with her fun, loving father.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
