In Loving Memory ~
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Allen Gordon Wayne Warning .
Allen was born in Edmonton, Alberta on Sept 12, 1936 to Gordon and Alfreda Warning. He was the youngest of three, having two older sisters, Betty Lou and Shirley. Allen was a kind-hearted and adventurous soul who lived his life to the fullest. In his early years he had a passion for exploring the great outdoors, whether it was skiing the Rocky Mountains or boating in the beautiful lakes of Alberta.
Allen was a beacon of good manners, always mindful of the importance of treating others with respect and courtesy. His impeccable etiquette was not merely a facade, but a genuine reflection of his character. Whether it was holding the door open for a stranger, offering a kind word of encouragement, or simply listening attentively, he made everyone feel valued and appreciated. His warm infectious smile could brighten even the darkest of days. He had a deep love for his dear wife Margaret, who will miss him more than life itself.
He loved his children, family and friends and cherished every moment spent with them.
In his professional life, Allen was a successful business man who made significant contributions to the pipeline and mining industries. His innovative ideas and problem-solving skills were admired by his colleagues and peers.
Outside of work, Allen was an avid golfer with a deep appreciation for his yard. He could often be found in his garage building another birdhouse with one of his beloved dogs by his side. He loved his garden and often produced an abundant crop of colourful tomatoes.
With his dear wife by his side, Allen went to be with his Lord on February 2nd, 2024. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His memory will live on through the impact he made on the lives of those around him.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to the Palliative Care Unit at the Nanaimo General Hospital in Allen's honor. Our deep thanks go out to the doctors, nurses and volunteers in the unit. Their kindness and professionalism will never be forgotten.
