In Loving Memory ~

Alex Born passed away, on Feb 4th, 2024, while skiing with close friends — doing what he was best at — enjoying life.

Alex was a simple man with a big heart, when Alex found passion in something, whether it was his job, his family, his farm, or his Toyota truck — he held that passion close.

Alex came into this world on September 25th, 1961, in the small town of Kitimat BC. He was born into a loving family of two brothers: Chris and Bernie; his mother Heidi, and his father Heinz.

Alex quickly found passion in the outdoors at a young age, it was that same passion that moved him towards his career in Forestry; a career that he embraced until his last days.

On March 17, 1993, Debbie met Alex. He immediately fit into Debbie and Cory's life. On July 1, 1999, on a meadow on Mount Norquay, Alex and Debbie were married. As easily as he fit into Debbie and Cory's life, he fit into the rest of our lives. Besides being a dad and husband, he became an Opa, a Father-in-law, a Brother-in-law, an Uncle Alex, and most of all a friend to us and everyone he worked and played with; he just fit.

He leaves behind a loving family: his mother, Heidi; his late father, Heinz; his two brothers, Chris and Bernie; his wife of 25 years, Debbie; his son, Cory; his daughter-in-law Jen; and his grandchildren, Kayden and Morgan.

Alex also leaves behind an ever-growing circle of relatives, friends and co-workers who have been touched by his kindness and wisdom.

Alex's Celebration of Life will be held at the Coldstream Community Hall on February 17, 2024, at 4:00 pm.

Alex's departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his calm demeanour and passion for life will live on. Alex's celebration of life will be a time to laugh, cry, and reflect — Bavarian style; dress casual or dress in your favorite lederhosen and dirndls.
