Adam Donald Moss

February 15, 1940 – December 21, 2022
In Loving Memory ~
Adam passed away peacefully on Winter’s Solstice, a beautiful cold sunny morning, a small flock of songbirds hopping around outside his window, looking for seeds on the brushing of snow.
Adam was a kind gentle person who loved being active and outdoors in nature, listening to classical music, live theatre and the symphony. He was a devoted husband and father. Family was always very important to him.
Adam grew up in West Vancouver. He attended Shawnigan Lake boarding school and then BCIT technical college which led to working in the pulp and paper industry as an Environmental Technician at Prince George Pulp and Paper Co. and then Caribou Pulp and Paper in Quesnel, B.C.
Adam met his wife Anne Dow in Prince George at a pulp mill Christmas party. In Prince George with his young family, he and Anne were active members of the United Church and created strong family friendships and connections.
Holidays were spent on road trips exploring B.C., camping, paddling the big green canoe, hiking, summer camps at Naramata Centre, and visiting his wife’s family in Nova Scotia.
After retirement, he and Anne moved to Vernon. There they joined Trinity United Church where they found fellowship and contributed to the ongoing life of Trinity’s congregation.
In 2017 Adam and Anne moved to Squamish to be closer to family and his grandson Thomas.
Adam is survived by his loving wife Anne, daughter Jennifer (Martin Vseticka), son David, grandson Thomas Vseticka, sister Heather (Vic) Medwedew, nephews Steven, Kevin and Darren; and extended family.
He is predeceased by his parents David and Violet (nee Osborn) Moss.
Adam was diagnosed with Parkinson’s and lived at Hilltop House Long Term Care in Squamish from 2020 until his passing. We are grateful for the kind care he received at Hilltop.
No funeral service will be held. Adam’s ashes will be scattered at a later date somewhere in the coastal mountains with the alpine wildflowers.
