Two women caught stealing playground equipment

Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 80 calls for service from May 2, 8 a.m. till May 5, 8 a.m.

Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 80 calls for service from May 2, 8 a.m. till May 5, 8 a.m.

During the same time period, there have been 12 people lodged in Terrace cells – eight of these people were lodged for intoxication.

Here are some of the calls responded to:

Two women were observed stealing playground equipment from a school on Lakelse Ave. Police arrested a 19-year-old woman and a 20-year-old woman who were found in the area and in possession of playground equipment. Checks determined that the 19-year-old woman also had a warrant for her arrest. She was held for court and was remanded.

A person interrupted a break and enter to a business on Braun St. A woman described as 5 ft. 7 inches tall, with dark hair, and dark clothing was observed smashing out the front window with a rock and attempting to gain entry. She fled south on Braun St. Checks were done of the area.

An intoxicated man yelling at people on Lakelse Ave. near the Coast Liquor Store. Checks determined that the man was in breach of probation by being near the Coast Liquor Store. Police arrested the man. Chase Cardinal, 22, has been charged with Failing to Comply with Probation x 2 and he is held for court.

Theft from a business on Munroe St. A man was observed loading lumber into a mid-90s two-door truck. Police determined that scaffolding from the business was also stolen.

An intoxicated man and woman refusing to leave the Northern Motor Inn. Police spoke with the couple. The man complied with police direction and left. The woman was belligerent with police and refused to leave. Police arrested the 28-year-old woman.

A grey 1974 GMC truck was pulled over on Hwy 16 near the Copper River. The 22-year-old driver provided two samples of breath into a roadside screening device that resulted in fails. She was served an Immediate Roadside Prohibition and the vehicle she was driving was impounded.

Missing 13-year-old boy. Police assisted family in locating the boy who was intoxicated and at a party with numerous underage youth at Queensway Dr./Park Access Rd. The party was shut down. A short time later police were called to the boy’s residence. He was out of control and combative. Police arrested him.

A grey 2011 Toyota Tundra in the ditch on Queensway Dr. at the bottom of Old Remo Hill. No injuries. The 51-year-old driver did not have a driver’s licence, had a notice to serve a driving prohibition, and was an impound candidate.

Abandoned vehicle on Hwy 16. Checks determined that the grey 2004 Mazda RX8 did not have valid insurance. It was towed.

A white 2011 Toyota Tacoma was pulled over on Hwy 16 near Gossen Cr. for going 143 km/hr in a 90km/hr zone. The vehicle was impounded.

Two one-year-old twins wandering around an apartment building. Numerous door knocks failed to rouse the parent. Police requested the assistance of Ministry of Children and Families.

Theft of a grey Giant bicycle with black fenders and silver tips on the fenders from the Chances Casino.
