Truck narrowly misses pedestrian in wheelchair

Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 25 calls for service from January 8th, 8 a.m. till January 9th, 8 a.m.

During the same time period, four people were lodged in Terrace cells – one of these people was lodged for intoxication.

Downtown Terrace

A black Guess purse with fringes containing various cards and ID was lost sometime around Christmas in the area of the Inn of the West on Lakelse Ave.

Man passed out in the stairwell on Lakelse Ave. A 46-year-old man was arrested.

A black Fossil purse with wallet, cell phone, various cards and ID was lost possibly in the area of Mark’s Work Warehouse on January 7th in the early evening.

Three intoxicated men on Lakelse Ave. A 37-year-old man was arrested.

Elsewhere Terrace

Breach of a no contact condition. Police spoke with numerous uncooperative people. It was unclear what had transpired. A woman was transported to a location.

A red Toyota truck in the ditch on Hwy 16 west of Terrace.

Well-being check on an employee who hasn’t showed up for work for a couple days. Police spoke with the man.

A warrant was issued for a 35-year-old woman for failing to comply with probation.

A 25-year-old woman was apprehended under the Mental Health Act and transported to Mills Memorial Hospital.

A man woke up to find another man inside of his apartment.

Deceased 84-year-old woman on Kalum St.

A dark-coloured Dodge Dakota almost struck a pedestrian in a wheelchair on Tetrault St, proceeded down Tetrault St, ran the stop sign at Graham Ave, then turned left onto Sparks St. Checks were done of the area. Further details could not be obtained.

Intoxicated person banging on a door on Loen Ave. Police arrested an intoxicated 31-year-old woman and transported her to the damp shelter.

Assist Ministry of Children and Families with three investigations.


A landlord/tenant dispute fueled by intoxication at a residence on Pine Ave. BC Ambulance requested police assistance at the location as well due to an intoxicated man causing problems. Police spoke with the people involved. A man was transported to Mills Memorial Hospital by BC Ambulance due to a medical issue. An intoxicated man left the residence.

Screaming in the area of River Dr. Police found a disoriented 20-year-old woman wearing minimal clothing in a state of partial undress. It was determined that the woman had been exposed to the elements for about four hours. She was transported to Mills Memorial Hospital. Under investigation.


Suicidal 14-year-old girl on the guardrail of the Kalum River Bridge on Hwy 16. She was transported to Mills Memorial Hospital by Northern Mental Health.

A black 2013 Dodge Ram attempted to pass a bulldozer. The bulldozer attempted to make a turn, right into the passing vehicle. No injuries. The truck sustained major damage.

Missing 53-year-old man. He returned on his own accord later in the night.


Separation dispute. Police spoke with a person.


A tool box on a snowplow was vandalized sometime during the night of January 8/9 while it was parked in the works yard at Gyiik Rd./Kwinitsa Ave.
