Saanich is inviting the public to come out for a ‘coffee klatch’ to talk about the future of the Uptown-Douglas Corridor area.

The casual style coffee meet-up is from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Roundhouse Cafe in the new Midtown Park condo at 935 Cloverdale Ave., across from Rutledge Park.

Saanich initiated a study to create a 30-year vision and plan for the Uptown-Douglas Corridor area.

Stretching from the City of Victoria border at the south end to just north of the Saanich municipal hall, the study area represents a critical regional hub that is expected to experience significant growth and change in the near future.

Planning for future rapid transit on Douglas Street, creating a more attractive walkable urban environment and providing opportunities for more residents and jobs are some of the key topics that will be explored in the process.
