Salmon Arm RCMP seeking a father who has taken his children illegally

Jeremy Beattie is bound by a Family Court Order not to have contact with his kids

Salmon Arm RCMP are requesting the public's assistance in locating Jeremy Beattie and his four young children that he is not legally allowed to be in contact with.

In a July 26 media release, RCMP spokesperson Corp. James Grandy asked for help in finding the 44-year-old father, who is bound by a Family Court Order not to have contact with his kids, Dominic, Laveena, Jonathan and Alora Beattie.

Beattie may be driving a purple, 2007 Chevrolet Uplander minivan with BC licence plates reading SM0 45K. He typically lives away from large urban centres in an "off-grid" lifestyle and possess firearms.

"We do not believe there's an immediate risk to the children," Grandy said in the statement. "However, Mr. Beattie is now bound by a Family Law Act Protection Order, which has ordered him to return the children to their mother."

Beattie is described as a 44-year-old Caucasian male standing 5 foot 9 and weighing 186 pounds, with brown hair and grey eyes.

Police ask anyone with information on the whereabouts of Beattie to not approach him, but to contact the Salmon Arm RCMP detachment immediately at 250-832-6044 or call 911.
