With just nine games left in the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League’s (KIJHL) regular season, the Posse sits second in the standings, just two wins behind the Sicamous Eagles and with conference contenders Revelstoke hot on Princeton’s heels.

The Posse earned two points over the past weekend during a challenging road trip, facing down two rivals for the KIJHL President’s Cup, which the Posse won last season. Princeton beat Revelstoke 6-3 last Friday, Jan. 19, but fell to Sicamous 5-2 the following night.

The Posse, with 53 points, is the only team in the KIJHL to have clinched both its playoff position within its division and secured its divisional banner. The North Okanagan Knights trail Princeton in the five-team Bill Ohlhausen division with 32 points.

They next play the Osoyoos Coyotes, at home on Friday, Jan. 26.
