BC Hydro reports more than 2,000 customers affected

A power outage that affected more than 4,000 homes and businesses in White Rock Tuesday afternoon was due to an equipment failure, according to BC Hydro.

The outage, which began just after 2 p.m., affected an area south of 16 Avenue, north of Beachview Avenue, west of Fir Street and east of Malabar Crescent.

According to information online, 4,303 customers were impacted, and power was restored just before 6 p.m.
