Residents of street in Thornhill told to stay inside, lock doors

TERRACE RCMP are telling people to avoid the Mountainview St. area of Thornhill, citing an ongoing incident.

There’s a heavy police presence in the area and RCMP are telling people to stay inside and lock their doors.

“It’s not a very big street, but there are side streets,” said Terrace RCMP Constable Angela Rabut.

“So we’re telling people to avoid the whole area.”

There’s no evidence of firearms being involved but Rabut said it is an ongoing concern.

“That’s why we’re telling people to stay inside and keep your doors locked,” she added.

This morning’s incident is part of an ongoing police investigation, said Rabut.

Mountainview is located in lower Thornhill, part of a small collection of streets off to the right of Old Lakelse Lake Drive before climbing the hill to upper Thornhill.

Within that area are Sande, Crescentview and Toynbee.
