The District of Mission has reached a three-year agreement with the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 1267.
The agreement brings negotiations to a conclusion and ensures stability for the district and employees through 2016.
The agreement sets out wage increases at 0 per cent, for 2014, one per cent for 2015, and 1.5 per cent for 2016, along with minor non-monetary language changes.
The overall financial impact for 2015 is approximately $148,000, and will be funded from an accumulated surplus, so there will be no impact on taxes for 2015.
The financial impact for 2016 is approximately $222,000, and will be addressed through the annual budgeting process.
“We value and respect our employees and their dedication, and we are happy to have reached this agreement,” said Mayor Randy Hawes.
CUPE local 1267 ratified the agreement on Wednesday, May 20, 2015.
