RCMP are investigating the theft of an Interior Health bus from the South Okanagan General Hospital in Oliver on Dec. 15.

According to police, the 15-seat, wheelchair-accessible bus was stolen Friday night from the hospital parking lot and then found abandoned nearby four days later. The bus is white with Interior Health logos on it.

The last time it was observed parked at 911 McKinney Road was 6:30 p.m. on the Friday and was discovered missing the next morning. The keys are accounted for and the bus had a full tank of gas.

The bus was recovered abandoned on Enterprise Way with no suspects around on Dec. 18. The ignition had been damaged, said police.

RCMP are now reviewing video surveillance from the hospital and from Okanagan Correctional Centre in an attempt to identify the suspects.
