Abbotsford Police are investigating a robbery in which a gun was fired this morning (Wednesday) at the Coast Capital Savings in the 2600 block of Clearbrook Road.
Const. Ian MacDonald said police were called to the scene at about 10:15 a.m. Nobody was injured during the incident.
“At this point, the type of firearm that was discharged, whether real or replica, has not been determined,” MacDonald said.
The suspect fled the bank on foot. He is described as Caucasian, about six feet tall and was wearing a long olive-coloured trench coat, blue jeans, white runners and a plastic/latex mask over his face.
He was also carrying a tan backpack.
Patrol division officers, major crime detectives and members of the forensic identification unit are all involved in the investigation.
No further information was available at this time, including whether there were any customers in the bank at the time of the robbery.
