The Elk River Alliance annual general meeting is just around the corner, and will be held on Mar. 1.
ERA members and the general public who tune in will be caught-up on the happenings in the ERA over 2020, with a preview of plans for 2021.
“In general, we’re looking at moving our operations to include a more holistic pathway to environmental monitoring in the Elk Valley,” said ERA executive director Chad Hughes.
“This means cooperating with a wider array of partners to gather and analyze data and putting more focus on automated and telemetric data collection to increase efficiencies. We aim to broaden our restoration priorities to look at the valley as a whole, rather than focusing on individual single site restoration.”
Hughes said that anyone passionate about the Elk River and environmental sustainability in the Elk Valley should consider attending the AGM and becoming a member.
“We are a community-focused organization, and our programming and projects are informed by community concerns. This means members have a voice, and the annual general meeting is a great opportunity to have that voice heard and help steer our direction in the future.”
Materials for the AGM will be available on the Elk River Alliance website prior to the meeting, which will be held on Mar. 1 between 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.
