Crash on Highway 97 near 100 Mile House claims life of driver

A woman from Williams Lake died following a motor vehicle incident (MVI) on Highway 97 north of 100 Mile House on Feb 3.

According to the 100 Mile House RCMP, she was the lone occupant in the vehicle that had gone off the roadway and came to a rest on its roof near 109 Mile at around 5 p.m.

The roadway was reduced to single-lane alternating traffic.

Police do not consider alcohol or drugs to be a factor in the collision. The roads were icy with compact snow at the time.

The investigation into this MVI is continuing and the name of the victim is not being released at this time.

The BC Coroner Service was engaged and attended the scene.
