Love is in the air as Valentine’s Day approaches and the local hospice society prepares to get a little wild.

Castlegar Hospice Society is holding its annual Hearts Gone Wild fundraiser. The event will take place on Saturday, Feb. 11 at the Element Club Bar & Grill. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the event runs from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m.

“It’s a lot of fun and the past couple of years we’ve had people there ranging from their 20s up to their 60s,” says Suzanne Lehbauer, executive director of the hospice society.

Tickets are $20 in advance and are available from the hospice society’s office, Undercover Secrets, The Goat and the Element.

Admission includes a glass of bubbly, Doodle Bug Chocolates samples, and one chance to win tickets to see U2 in Vancouver. Another 150 raffle tickets will be available for $15 each, and Doodle Bug will have boxes of chocolates for sale.

The evening also includes a DJ, dancing, door prizes, and of course, the Undercover Secrets lingerie show, which will feature both male and female models.

Money raised through the event “goes directly back to hospice to support all the services we provide and it is one of our major fundraisers of the year,” says Lehbauer.
