Cash was stolen from three stores in Maple Ridge during three separate robberies that happened in a span of two days this week.

The latest hold-up took place on North Avenue at Fraser Street just before 2 p.m.

Insp. Dave Fluegel said a man entered the North Street Food Market, produced “an edged-weapon” and threatened the clerk on duty.

The man left with lottery tickets, including scratch-and-win cards, and a small amount of cash.

Fluegel said officers responded quickly and detained a man who matched the description of the thief.

Ten hours earlier, around 2:30 a.m., a man walked into a 7-Eleven store on the Lougheed Highway at Laity Street and brandished a knife.

He managed to take a small amount of cash from the till and ran out of the store. He was last seen heading east along the highway.

He is described as a white man between 5-7 and 5-11 with a medium build, dirty, dark, unwashed hair to the bottom of his ears and scruffy facial hair.  He was wearing dirty blue jeans and a black zip-up hooded sweatshirt.

Six hours earlier, a man managed to steal money from a till at Dollar Giant on 207th Street around 8 p.m. Wednesday, before riding away on a bicycle.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 20s, approximately 6-0. He was wearing beige track pants and a brown long-sleeve track suit. He was last seen heading south towards the Lougheed Highway.
