Following are the highlights from the Oct. 20 Cariboo Regional District board meeting.
James Kinakin, Peter Du Toit and Berni Easson from Interior Health (IH) gave the Cariboo Chilcotin Regional Hospital District (CCRHD) board an update on IH’s current and anticipated funding, projects, services, goals and priorities.
Regarding the Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake, they explained that IH has submitted a revised concept plan for the hospital upgrade and has requested Ministry of Health approval to move ahead and develop a detailed business plan.
The CCRHD board renewed its Memorandum of Understanding with Northern Health.
The Hospital District and Northern Health have had a MOU since 2003 to provide clarity around roles and information sharing for the planning and funding of equipment, clinical information technology and capital projects.
The CCRHD typically provides 40 per cent of funding for hospital capital projects in the region.
Celebrating 50 years
In 2018, the CRD will celebrate its 50th anniversary. The board and staff have formed a committee to brainstorm ideas to make the year memorable.
