Following an unusual spike of seven new cases of COVID-19, Agassiz-Harrison’s transmission rate has dropped once again to a single new case between June 13 and 19.
According to the latest data from the B.C. Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC), the previous week’s spike of seven cases was the highest in six weeks; six of the seven reported cases were related to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak at Glenwood Care Centre in Agassiz.
As of June 16 – the most recent outbreak report from the BCCDC – there have been eight cases of COVID-19 in the Glenwood outbreak. This breaks down to five residents and three staff members. There are no deaths associated with this outbreak.
Fraser-Cascade School District 78 is currently reporting no exposure events.
Agassiz-Harrison has had a total of 158 cases of COVID-19 since the beginning of 2021, averaging about 6.6 cases per week.
As of June 21, Agassiz-Harrison has reached 73 per cent of people aged 12 and older who have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. 75 per cent of people aged 18 and older are immunized, and 85 per cent of adults aged 50 and older have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
