April 28 each year is designated as the Day of Mourning which was established in 1984. Houston workers, residents and Tom Euvermen councillor of the District of Houston gathered at the Workers Memorial in Steelhead Park on April 26 at 10 a.m. The Day of Mourning offers everyone an opportunity to stand together with the world’s workers to remember those who have died on the job, and to reflect on what needs to be done to prevent more deaths and injuries.
