New South Surrey festival set to launch

We are excitedly planning our first annual South Surrey Festival at Kwomais Point Park on Saturday, June 18, where our community will enjoy an amazing day of activities and entertainment for all ages.

Non-stop entertainment and live music on the main outdoor stage between 11:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.; a full afternoon of kids and family activities. including all the old-fashioned games we love and remember from our school days; artisans of all types will be display their talents in Sanford Hall; and the Lodge will be set up as a place to relax with musicians and refreshments.

Thrifty’s has donated the food for a barbecue in the park.

For more, contact the South Surrey Recreation Centre at 604-592-6970.

Our Intergenerational Therapeutic Garden is in great transition.

By the beginning of July, all of our work to upgrade some of the gardens and to complete the sharing circle will be complete.

Public access will be limited, for safety reasons, until the heavy work is done, but it will be worth the wait.

Plants and herbs will be in the dirt, children’s benches will be installed and tables and chairs will be in place.
