It’s opening weekend at LocoLanding Adventure Park in Penticton.
The popular activity park is now open every weekend until May 21 when it will begin to open daily until Sept. 6. Visitors to the park are required to wear masks while moving throughout the facility.
On top of the go-karts, high ropes, bumper boats and mini golf, there is a new feature this year.
It’s called Badlands – the largest outdoor inflatable park in Canada. Featuring slides, big baller, extreme ninja course, emoji pop-ups, climbing wall and extreme balance platform. It’s $15 per person for unlimited time.
Owner Diana Stirling said hiring is almost complete for the full season.
“We received over 200 applications and will have 130 teen staff this year between the four businesses,” she said.
She is the largest employer of Penticton’s youth.
Stirling also operates The Peach ice cream and Lickity Splitz across from the Wibit and is part owner of Coyote Cruises.
LocoLanding staff are trained in COVID-19 safety protocols, the same as last year, which includes sanitizing and distancing.
As with so many tourist operations, Stirling is hoping for a better summer than last year. With more people vaccinated by summer, hopefully restrictions will ease in B.C.
“We are cautiously optimistic about the summer,” said Stirling.
Hiring link is still open should more spots open up at www.LocoLanding.com/jobs2021. LocoLanding hires those finishing grade 8 and up (14+ years old).
