After cancellations due to the pandemic and venue flooding, the Community Dental Access Centre has been chomping at the bit to bring back its ever-popular musical fundraising event.
The Power of Music, featuring Betty Anne Northup and Marty Edwards, backed by the fabulous nine-piece Crossfire Rhythm & Horns, takes place Friday, Feb. 16, at the Vernon and District Performing Arts Cenre.
“This performance is a salute to the music of Tom Jones, Peggy Lee, Englebert, Ella Fitzgerald, Michael Bublé and more,” said Karen Waldal, clinic manager of the dental centre.
In addition to the concert, there will be a silent auction featuring art, goods and services from local businesses and artisans.
“All funds raised by this event stay here in our community to support the work of Community Dental Access Centre,” said Waldal.
As the North Okanagan’s only non-profit, low-cost dental clinic, they provide discounted dental services to low-income individuals and families within the region experiencing financial and other barriers to dental health care.
“The clinic can provide these services through fundraising efforts such as The Power of Music, in addition to the generosity of community donors and supporters. Each year, through thousands of patient visits, the dedicated staff and volunteers work to fulfill the motto Create a Smile, Change a Life.”
