Jocelyn Pettit in Merville

Gardeners Green Folk Club in Merville is presents the next in their House Concert Series

Gardeners Green Folk Club in Merville is pleased to present the next in their House Concert Series, an evening with Jocelyn Pettit and her band Saturday night (May 7) at 7 p.m.

Some will have seen Pettit at Gardeners Green a couple of years ago, and know what a warm and outstanding performance she gives, which is why organizers say they are so excited to have her back. She has just released a new album, and will be bringing her four-piece band along, as well, consisting of her mother Siew on keyboards, her dad Joel on bodhran, guitarist Colm MacCarthaigh, and whistle player Erik Musseau.

Pettit is fiddler extraordinaire, as well as providing vocals and step dancing. Together they play engaging and uplifting original and traditional music inspired by the Canadian and Celtic cultures of Cape Breton, Quebec, Ireland, Scotland, Brittany and Galicia.

With a love of travelling and sharing the joy of music, Pettit has performed with grace and passion on stages across Canada, the U.S., Scotland, France and Malaysia. She performed at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics to a packed BC Place Stadium for the Victory Medals Ceremony and has shared the stage with Scottish legends The Battlefield Band and Irish supergroup The Chieftains as part of their 50th anniversary world tour.

Jocelyn has delighted audiences everywhere she goes, and Gardeners Green is sure to be no exception.

Tickets must be purchased in advance and are $20, which includes hot drinks and a fingerfood buffet. All proceeds go directly to the performers.

As this is a house concert, held in a private home, seating is limited, so get your seat by calling 250-337-5337 if you’re interested in attending this great evening of entertainment.
