Cinema Under the Stars cancelled in Abbotsford for Aug. 14

The event was scheduled to take place at Rotary Stadium

The free Cinema Under the Stars event that was scheduled to take place in Abbotsford tonight (Friday, Aug. 14) has been cancelled due to rain.

Organizers Prospera Credit Union have rescheduled the outdoor movie for Thursday, Sept. 3.

Big Hero 6 was scheduled to be shown on a three-storey-high screen at Rotary Stadium.

Another Cinema Under the Stars event is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 27 at the same location. The film Cinderella will be the featured movie and will be shown after the sun goes down.

Donations on both nights will be collected for Success by 6, a partnership of the United Way, Credit Unions of B.C., the Ministry of Children and Family Development, and aboriginal and community leaders.

The program encourages citizens to build and fund programs that include cultural programs and resources, literacy, nutrition, child care and more for kids under six years old and their families.

Updates on Cinema Under the Stars can be found on the Prospera Credit Union Facebook page.
